Day 1 – Full-Day Workshop: Advancing California’s Literacy Practices
Day 1 features an interactive workshop focused on California’s new literacy initiatives, emphasizing screening, data collection, and evidence-based intervention. Participants will explore state literacy guidelines, data-driven decision-making tools, and effective screening and intervention practices to support early identification and dyslexia. This immersive session is ideal for teachers, specialists, and administrators committed to strengthening literacy outcomes through prevention, early intervention, and multi-tiered systems of support.
Day 2 – Multi-Strand Conference Experience
Day 2 offers a multi-strand conference designed to meet the diverse needs of the special education community, featuring:
- Transition: Preparing students for life beyond school through effective planning and interagency collaboration
- EBPs & HLPs: Practical strategies to strengthen outcomes for students with disabilities
- Paraeducator Strand: Sessions supporting collaboration, communication, and instructional skill development
- Bolstering LRE Rates: Innovative approaches to promote inclusion and improve Least Restrictive Environment outcomes
- Literacy & Dyslexia: Deep dives into assessment, structured literacy, and targeted intervention
Day 2 also includes networking, resource sharing, and sessions tailored for teachers, administrators, and faculty dedicated to advancing inclusive education across California.
