About the Series
We invite you to join this collaborative learning series, brought to you by CA CEC, the CEEDAR Center, and the UC/CSU Collaborative.
This Community of Practice (CoP) is a unique opportunity to engage with experts and colleagues across the state. Together, we will explore how to better equip tomorrow’s teachers to support all students—specifically focusing on learners with disabilities and those who benefit from explicit self-regulation skill development.
📅 Session Schedule
Mark your calendars for this three-part virtual series. Attendance at all sessions is encouraged to maximize the community learning experience.
Session 1: Friday, February 6, 2026
Session 2: Friday, February 20, 2026
Session 3: Friday, March 20, 2026
All sessions take place from 12:00 PM to 1:20 PM Pacific Time via Zoom.
Who Should Attend?
Calling all Teacher Education Faculty!
We strongly encourage Institutes of Higher Education (IHEs) to attend as teams. To get the most out of this work, we recommend sending 2–3 faculty members or administrators from different departments or programs.
Note: While team attendance is encouraged for cross-departmental collaboration, individual registration is also welcome.
What Will We Cover?
Focus: The Intersection of Literacy & Behavior
Participants will dive deep into Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) and High-Leverage Practices (HLPs). Our sessions will focus on:
- Integration: How to seamlessly connect literacy instruction with positive behavior supports.
- Self-Regulation: Strategies to help pre-service teachers foster self-regulation skills in their future students.
- Inclusive Practice: Strengthening outcomes for students with disabilities through robust teacher preparation.
- Collaboration: Sharing resources and strategies with fellow faculty members across the UC and CSU systems.
